A Fairwell To Gangnam Style: Top 5 Parodies

Gangnam style has officially worn out its welcome, after waves of parodies and radio stations clinging on to it as if it were a new Justin Bieber hit it’s about time to put it to rest. And we’re of the firm belief that every good internet fad deserves one last solute so we came up with our top 5 parodies of PSY’s famous South Korean Viral Video Gangnam Style as a tribute to something we’d like to never hear again (seriously stop making us listen to this).

 Gangnam Style Without Music

Why We Don’t Hate It:  When you take a music video as wild and bizarre as Pys’s Gangnam Style and you strip all the music away from it you’re instantly transported back to the first time you watched it and were legitimately creeped out. You can hear all the steps and background noises along side the infamous dance all without the music.

Mitt Romney Style

Why We Don’t Hate It: Done by College Humor Most of the lyrics in this song address what about 47% of Americans would expect from Mitt Romney himself, although the lyrics don’t flow or rhyme too well the video’s content results in a fairly entertaining end product.

Waveya Korean Dancers

Why We Don’t Hate It: While we’re not sure if we’re legally allowed to love this group of adorable dancers we can’t help but say it’s awesome. So until we get an official age confirmation on all of these dancers watch the video (on mute if you’re as sick of the song as we are).

Pentatonix Gangnam Style A Capella Masterpiece

Why We Don’t Hate It: The five vocalists — Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado, Mitch Grassi, Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola – sing an incredible a capella version of the song that will make you forget all about hearing it for the 375,230,712nd time.

Kim Jong Style

Why We Don’t Hate It: The lyrics in this parody are cleaver, non-repetitive and funny, on top of that the cheesy green screen lends itself perfectly to the song. This is by far one of our favorite byproducts of the South Korean K-Pop Song, especially when you consider that it’s a North Korean reinterpretation.
